Paper Cowgirl Yahoo! Group...

Weeelllll.... it's underway! Paper Cowgirl registration is finally here... It will be a super fun event, the hoopla has already started with the new Paper Cowgirl 2009 Yahoo Group! I am hearing of swaps that will be getting started soon. And other fun happenings..... So for anyone going to PC- better go sign up for the group, and if you're thinking of attending PC- git on over there and sign up! Tina is telling me a couple classes are close to filling up! (And just an FYI- the lunches will be delicious!)

ATCs and some PAPER ARTS FUN!

So, in my last post I said I was feeling a creative jive... joined some swaps, and here's a little bit of what I've been up to:

Bailey joined in with me, and even swapped ATCs with another girl her age! Here's what she's been working on... quite a little budding artist, I must say! I am so thrilled she loves to be right at my side creating, it's a ton of fun when were singin', inkin', paintin', cuttin', gluein'... hmmm, there's a little jingle in there somewhere. ;) (She's a little busier than I am, hence more production takes place). lol

Then... I am sooooooo excited! Last year I attended Silver Bella Paper Arts Retreat for the first time. I went by myself, which was a little bit frightening ( I have never traveled by myself before). But it was in Omaha, Nebraska- How bad could it be? That was practically back home where I grew up! So I felt like I was in some-what familiar territory... I was so lucky to have been able to register after someone had canceled, because it ended up a sold out event. (Miss Foof sure knows how to put together one doozy of a retreat!) I then made flight and hotel arrangements, and Little Miss Cinderella was on her way! I am so glad I went, it was total paper arts heaven! And now I'm attending again this year, and I am sooo excited to go and see friends I met from last year! Yay!

And not only Silver Bella, but I'll be headed south to the Paper Cowgirl Retreat in September. Tina, who hosted the Cowgirl Swap a couple months ago, along with her friend Cindy, are going to be hostesses of this big paper pow-wow! (Tina will also be one of the talented artist, teaching a class!) I am so excited because I'll be going with Valita (who I met at Silver Bella last year), and I'll be meeting Ms. Nancy ,(whom I've never officially met in person... we met via swapping over the internet and have been blogging "friends" ever since! I never thought when I started blogging, that I would have met soooo many talented and absolutely wonderful people. Oh so much fun and excitement!

Dreaming of

So, instead of doing what I need to be doing, I am checking up on my bloggin' friends... in doing so, I ran across Vintage Indie's - " I Dream of Spring Vintage SWAP!". I have noticed in months past all the swaps that go on in blogland, but I have not participated yet( or I always "miss" the sign-up date). So, I'm gonna take part this time, and I made the deadline for sign-ups (barely- March 1st- hurry, if your interested)!
Here are my questions/answers for the swap:

a. What's your favorite part of spring?
Spring showers, flowers and fruit tree blossoms, signs of new life all around, birds chirping (during the day NOT the night ;) ), feeling of warmth, garage sales, the flea market, picnics, playing in the park.



b. What are your favorite flowers?
Do I have to choose? ;) I like alot of different flowers... daises, wildflowers, pink or red roses, magnolias, peonies, gerber daises, larkspur, tulips, sunflower...


c. What types of hobbies/crafts do you enjoy?
I'm so eclectic... I like to dabble here and there. I like to try something new, sometimes I end up not trying, but love to see the talent in someone who does! I love paper crafting, altering, collage, assemblage, card-making, some sewing, scrapbooking, jewelry/beads & charms.


d. What types of vintage do you collect or look for?
Hmmm.... what don't I look for?! Paper stuff (cards, wallpaper, ledger paper, recipe books, etc) children's story books, magazines & toys, holiday items, millinery flowers, trim, fabrics, chandelier crystals, costume bling!, aprons, kitchen dishcloths, pretty handkerchiefs, women's & children's clothing patterns, wooden letterpress letters, blue Pyrex snowflake dishes (I like pink too), metal recipe boxes... (I DID say eclectic!)



e. Any allergies or thing that you absolutely can't stand?
No strong and overpowering fake floral scents.

Cinderella is home...

Once upon a time in a far away kingdom...
Well, as the story goes (the fast forward way) Cinderella has lost her slipper, her carriage has turned back into a pumpkin, and her dress is tattered and torn...
But, I can tell you how much it was worth the fairytale fun. So much glitter, sparkle, and friendship. I had such a WONDERFUL weekend EVA! Silver Bella is a dream come true for this little Cinder-bella! Teresa McFayden really knows how to throw a party for such creatively-spirited talent! I made so many new friends, and "danced" to my hearts content through every last project, and will miss every piece of glitter that trailed throughout the entire hotel in Omaha! Omaha is a wonderful little city, and the ladies I met were just outstanding... so much talent, freshness, inspiration, and love! I am trying to get a remix of pictures up, but am having "technical difficulties". Hopefully I'll have it figured out by the time I publish this post. ;) The Cinderella card you see I got at the little antique store "Second Chance Antiques" in Omaha's Old Market- if you ever get the chance to go- you simply must! And just across the way is "Fairmont Antiques" in the old Fairmont Dairy building (which has special meaning... my grandfather was a "Milk Man" for Fairmont in Nebraska way back in the day), which is just as wonderful to reminisce old stories I heard.
I love what the little card said inside... And alas, I hope to find my glass slipper next year at the next Silver Bella event!
Here's a peek at what came home with me from the swaps I had joined... these ladies are so talented, and did such a fabulous job! Thank you all! I also have 5 projects from

classes , of which I haven't a single one finished... oh well. Maybe I'll post them soon...
There were quite a few from Texas, and it was so much fun to talk with each of them and find out that we all have run in the same circles (in some way, shape or form) in our past, and not even knowing it! I have created a new kinship with these ladies, and I realized as in going back through my photos, that I did not get a picture of all of them! I think Valita was the only onE! I am SO bummed! I will have to hunt down a picture from the most talented photographer Kim Haynes, and purchase photos from her. Unless y'all have any to share of you!? ;) Thank you, thank you ladies for the most wonderful, glittery, sparkle-filled time of my life! I needed it! Remember, let's stay in touch! You know who you are!
And they all lived happily ever after!
